They say the truth hurts and boy does it ever!
However, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing as there is always a learning opportunity and path to self improvement when we are forced to confront inconvenient, and yes, even hurtful truths about ourselves or others in our lives.
No one is immune to the hurtful nature of truth as we have all been hurt by life’s truths at some point.
After all, acknowledging and accepting truth can be downright painful on many levels.
I’m convinced that we don’t grow, learn and advance without going through some pain, adversity and taking some hits to our egos to keep us grounded in humility along our life journey.
Have you ever experienced the hurtful truths derived from the following scenarios?
The harsh truth of a dishonest spouse, girlfriend or boyfriend
The truth of a disloyal friend
The truth of a disingenuous, undermining co-worker or family member
The truth of being taken advantage of
The pain and truth of an ungrateful child
The pain and truth of a neglectful parent
Assigning value to a relationship where none truthfully exists
Truthfully addressing your poor values and habits in order to succeed in life
The fact that YOU are ultimately and truthfully to blame for your lot in life
The factual truth that you have no money and are in debt because you refuse to learn about basic personal finance and be fiscally disciplined
And the list goes on and on, but you get my drift.
We’ve all been confronted with at least one of the above scenarios in life.
When confronted with the truth of a situation, acknowledge it, study it and take the necessary action to get your life back in balance and heading in a positive direction.
Just don’t bury your head in the sand and ignore the truth as I guarantee the pain of ignoring it will be far greater than dealing with it now and moving on to greener pastures.
But it’s your choice. It’s your life. Just don’t expect others to accept and buy into the burdens of your poor life choices – unless you find a sap or sucker to entertain your nonsense.
P.T. Barnum used to say “There is a sucker born every minute” so maybe there are enough suckers and saps out there to bail out the irresponsible and truth averse among us.
So when you’re tired of being a sucker and sap in life and decide to move in a positive direction, just head for the truth instead of justifying all the bad moves you are making in your life.
Five More Truths
Truth #91 Average performance just won’t get you noticed.
At work this won’t lead to promotions or raises.
And in life this doesn’t create strong relationships or bonds.
So dare to put in the effort and become more than “Average.”
Truth #92 There are two kinds of people:
Those that think the government cares about them.
And those that actually think.
Truth #93 A man that chases women will run out of money
But a man who chases money, excellence and success will never run out of women
Truth #94 Nothing on the menu at Krispy Kreme, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Dunkin Donuts or any fast food joint will improve your immune system.
In fact, your immune system will take a hit and become weaker due to these indulgences.
Eating based on impulse and convenience is rarely in your best interests.
Truth #95 People have had it so good living in a First World country like America, that they are now inventing problems and unsubstantiated crises to fill their pampered lives.
So don’t chase nonsense and manufactured drama, folks.
Chase excellence instead.
Those are my new five truths I’m sticking with.
And remember – the absolute worst person you can lie to is yourself.

I share, write about, demonstrate and actively practice methods and philosophies that allow me to stay strong, happy, financially secure, lean, move well and pain-free, keep fat off, remain powerfully confident and live a high quality healthy life without boring the hell out of me or wasting my precious time.
Maybe my methods and outlook will help you fill a disappointing gap in your life plan. Maybe it won’t.
Life will constantly throw you off track and try to de-rail your progress, success and happiness IF you let it.
The trick is to never accept defeat, dust yourself off and get back on track, choose your fights and energy expenditures wisely and refuse to get lazy and follow the herd into unremarkable mediocrity.
Nobody ever forged a quality and purpose driven life without hard and consistent work, learning from failures and cleaning up their poor habits and unsuccessful values.
No apologies. No regrets. Now go get shit done!
