I refuse to be a fearful and weak victim to the coronavirus protocols and be resigned to having my physical and mental prowess eroded while under lockdown.
I’m no medical doctor, virus expert, mental health guru or emotional support coach.
I just share my experience, the actions I adopt, my reasoning’s and the results derived from them
If my thoughts and methods resonate with you, then adopt what is helpful to you. If not, then don’t.
All I can promise you is that I lead by example and am a product of my own habits and advice.
Here’s what I’m doing during the coronavirus shutdown:
Staying Objectively Informed
I strive to be an informed citizen by keeping things in historical perspective and processing all the media data, narratives and studies through the filter of reason and unemotional acceptance of facts.
There are many media outlets that are desperately trying to use the coronavirus lockdown to push their defeatist political agendas through fear, hype and blatant fact cooking and misinformation.
I refuse to be swayed by the fear mongering media factions who do not have my best interests at heart and self righteously treat the American public like unthinking sheep who can’t think past a sensational headline or doomsday sound bites.
Staying informed and objective will root you in reality and shield you from all the ministers of misery out there looking to keep you weak and confused.
Keeping My Immune System Powered Up
The lion’s share of prevention attention during the covid-19 virus has been on social distancing, hand washing, mask wearing and locking the public away.
However, I rarely see the experts addressing how important keeping our immune systems primed and battle ready is.
I view having an immune system charged to capacity and firing on all cylinders as my best ally in combating anything nasty life throws at us.
How do I keep my immune system strong and looking out for my ass especially during this pandemic?
I get 7-8 hours of sleep
Try to get fresh air and sunshine/natural light daily
Eat like a sane, responsible adult. Consume whole foods and ditch the processed crap
Perform moderate exercise to power the body
Avoiding crazy intense exercise for now since training to your limits will give you windows of weakened immunity
Manage stress and how you react to those around you.
Lay down the law and set boundaries keeping the nonsense of other’s at bay.
By contrast, here’s how to tank your immune system and invite sickness:
Smoking
Eating sugar, processed foods and refined carbohydrates
Alcohol consumption
Lack of quality sleep/staying up late
Avoiding fresh air and sunshine
Not exercising or moving your body
Unable to manage stress internally or externally
One of your best allies in this unpredictable life that you have direct control over is your immune system.
Don’t tax it or wear it down as it is an invaluable piece of bio armor that constantly looks out for you if you treat it right!
Take An Honest Inventory Of Strengths And Weaknesses
I’m using this covid-19 lockdown to self reflect on what my strengths are and how I can streamline them and get even stronger.
I will analyze and work on my weaknesses too, but I have found that focusing on improving my strengths adds way more value to my life than channeling too much time and energy to improving my weaknesses.
For example, I am always looking to improve existing strengths like business skills, management, leadership, writing, fishing skills, interpersonal skills and physical culture.
Learn Who Your Real Friends Are And Who Has Your Back
This pandemic provides a great opportunity to really evaluate the people and organizations in your life.
I have had a good wake up call observing the behaviors of family, friends, businesses and co-workers in my life during this coronavirus crisis.
Some have endeared me closer to them and bonded us stronger, but others have demonstrated poor behavior, selfishness, questionable judgement and made me look at them in a different light.
Taking this time to reflect upon and re-set my life habits and relationships with family, friends, co-workers, bosses etc has been an enlightening experience.
Seeking Out Optimistic, Productive And Successful People
I like to read about, listen to or watch people who are doing good things in the world.
Instead of needlessly burning energy worrying about this pandemic lockdown I can’t change, I will take the opportunity to learn from others with skills greater than my own.
I plan on becoming more powerful physically and mentally at the conclusion of this coronavirus pandemic!
Where Can I Help Out?
I check on my neighbors, family and friends not only to let them know I care and am thinking about them, but to offer any aid if they need my help with anything physically or they just need an outlet to vent to.
A simple thing like taking out an elderly neighbor’s trash and bringing their cans back off the street may be a trivial physical exertion and time expenditure to me, but may mean the world to them.
All these above habits serve me well regardless if there is a national emergency or crisis like this coronavirus lockdown.

I’m Mark Mellohusky (Mellow-Husky)
I enjoy sharing my fitness training and health philosophies I practice that I have either adopted or tweaked from some of the fitness greats in history or designed myself.
Most of my adult life has been spent testing out and experimenting countless fitness methodologies filtering out and keeping the most productive methods that pay the most fitness dividends for my precious time invested and dumping those methods with the least value.
While I share many tips, techniques, and fitness philosophy on my site, it is unrealistic to try to adopt it all into your fitness plan as we all have different health and fitness gaps in our programs we need to address.
Explore my site and take what you need to succeed even if it’s just one concept and fill your fitness gaps, dare to get out of your comfort zone and experience the thrill of doing what works and realizing your goals!
There’s always opportunities to get better in any crisis thrust upon us.
Practice optimism. Spread it. It really is contagious!
Don’t be a willing victim to your poor health.
Do something about it.
You owe it to yourself , those who count on you and yes those you may potentially burden.
There’s a sparkle in my eyes and iron in my thighs!
