Check out this list of basic things you can do to really achieve your ideal quality of life and position yourself for your best shot at health and happiness on this planet.
Physician William Heise submitted this list in a financial publication I read which bears repeating so here it is:
1. Don’t get overweight
2. Get regular exercise
3. Don’t smoke
4. Don’t overuse alcohol
5. Don’t use illicit drugs
6. Get enough sleep
7. Wear your seat belt
I think this is a great list that anybody can follow as these are free measures to practice – absolutely guaranteeing a better quality of life.
Here are two more items I will add to this list to ensure a maximum life quality:
8. Stay connected to pursuits, activities and people that make you happy.
If you hate your job, feel obligated to do things you can’t stand and surround yourself with miserable people – you are really creating a rotten recipe for life.
So stop digging a ditch for yourself and take charge of your happiness.
If the activities and people you surround yourself with drain you and your zest for life, either make a change or plan on being unhappy for the foreseeable future.
9. Work on your movement quality.
I’m convinced that if you are stiff, riddled with joint pain and unable to get up and down from the ground capably and confidently, you will not be a happy camper regardless of your age.
We are only as old as our ability to move in pain-free, unrestricted full ranges of motion.
Take a simple fitness test to see how mobile and fit you are. This will tell you the areas you need to work on to re-connect you with the movement of your youth.
Click on the link at the end of the article to see if you can pass the test!
Life for the most part is a relatively simple process. It’s those bad choices combined with unproductive distractions we all have experienced that makes life difficult.
Fortunately, it is never too late to make improvements in our life quality.
You are responsible for your own happiness and guiding your life in whatever direction your habits drive you to.
If you cultivate and practice good habits, you will have an awesome life. If you practice bad habits, you will have a dismal life quality.
It’s entirely up to you. Nobody will do the work for you.
So don’t count on some mystical figure waving a magical wand over your life and handing you an ideal existence.
I really hope this list inspires you to take action on some level to make things happen to improve your happiness and well being.
Stay Well! Take Action! Be Consistent! Train and Eat Smart! Get Rid of the Drains and Pains in Your Life! Value your loved ones and friends and get out and have some active, safe fun!

I’m Mark Mellohusky (Mellow-Husky)
I tenaciously hunt down powerfully productive fitness methods and life quality lessons that improve anybody daring to take action and make a positive change.
I enjoy sharing my fitness training and health philosophies I practice that I have either adopted or tweaked from some of the fitness greats in history or designed myself. Most of my adult life has been spent testing out and experimenting with countless fitness methodologies.
I achieve success by filtering out and keeping the most productive methods that pay the greatest fitness dividends for my precious time invested and dumping those methods with the least value.
I pride myself on being a product of my own advice.
The methods I practice enable me to be a powerfully active (often barefoot) eternal student of physical cultureĀ who will not go quietly into the sunset since I have learned how to age gracefully by adopting sane eating strategies, staying strong and lean, moving well and pain-free and conquering nasty fat.
All without spending hours haunting gyms doing hours of sappy media endorsed low value exercises and gulping down expensive and questionable supplements.
While I share A lot of tips, techniques, and fitness philosophy on my site, it is unrealistic to try to adopt it all into your fitness plan as we all have different health and fitness gaps in our programs we need to address.
So take what you need to succeed even if it’s just one concept and fill those fitness gaps, dare to get out of your comfort zone and experience the thrill of doing what works and realizing your goals!
There’s a sparkle in my eyes and iron in my thighs!
